The Scripted Shindig specializes in custom wedding stationery that includes calligraphy and whimsical watercolor elements that are unique and special to your event.
Working through our custom design service you will have a dedicated designer from start to finish. Our design studio takes on a limited number of custom design projects a year so you can be assured that your wedding branding and stationery get the time and care it deserves.

How much can I expect to invest in my custom wedding invitation package?
Due to the nature of custom stationery pricing varies and is dependent on paper choices, printing methods and embellishments. The typical Scripted Shindig couple spends about $1500 on their custom wedding invitation suite.

Each project is as unique as the couples they are for. This means that there are happy surprises and exciting detours along the way. Even so we have a process that keeps everyone on track and focused on the main thing: delievering an awesome first glimpse at your amazing event!
All Scripted Shindig custom clients start with a one on one consultation by video chat, email or in person. You have probably never done this before so you’ve got questions and we’ve got answers! We will chat about your wedding paper needs, wedding theme, and stationery budget. I want to really get to know you and your partner and truly guide you along this process. Feel free to bring all those inspirational photos and ideas; we want to hear all of it! This is also where we will start to create the vision for your wedding branding and stationery.
Once we have discussed all the details we will prepare a detailed quote and contract. You should expect to receive this 24-48 hours after your consultation. We will also send all the details you will need to book, which includes payment of a 50% retainer at the time of booking. Once your spot is secured and confirmed you will receive your welcome packet which will include links to our Wedding Information Questionnaire and your customized Recipient Address Spreadsheet. Also included will be your stationery timeline with all the important dates to help keep you organized and your project on track.
Now for the fun part, the design process! Pulling together all of your inspiration we will create any custom artwork, hand lettered calligraphy and source any elements that will form your wedding branding. Once the initial design has been completed you will receive a digital proof for your review. Custom designs include unlimited revisions and 1 major design overhaul. Once your suite is the wedding stationery of your dreams you will be able to approve them for print. The remaining balance is due at the time of approval and before the handcrafted production & delivery stage.
All of your stationery pieces will be sent out for printing or produced in house. Each and every piece is inspected once it reaches my studio for quality prior to all of your handcrafted embellishments. If calligraphy addressing or other hand lettering is included it will be created in our studio. Once all your pieces are finished they will be shipped fully assembled and ready for postage.
Frequently Asked Questions
On average we book our custom clients 8 months prior to their event. However, we are able to accommodate shorter timelines for intimate affairs. We recommend that once you have your venue booked to contact us. This will allow you to secure your spot on our calendar. From there we will start the design process, typically 5-6 months prior to your event!
Yes! We are a full service calligraphy and design studio that can help you with any of your stationery needs. While we would love to work with you from start to finish to create a cohesive brand for you wedding we can definitely accommodate custom commissions for day of details that correspond with your wedding theme.
Absolutely! We have a full semi custom line for this exact purpose. Maybe you got so excited about all other details that you are just now circling back to your invites. Or maybe you just happen to love simplicity and want to choose from a base and start there. Either way we have an option to help you fulfill your watercolor wedding stationery dreams! Absolutely! The best part about custom wedding invitation design is that we can add special elements that are unique to you as a couple or the special place you plan to wed. This could include a custom wedding monogram, venue sketch or watercolor illustrations. All of these details are part of our artistic process and included in all custom design projects.
We get this is definitely a full sensory experience. I mean if you have ever felt 100% cotton paper you know what I mean! I work with clients worldwide so the option of an in person meet and greet isn’t always possible. For this I would be more than happy to send a sample kit ($15) that includes our most common papers and printing styles along with popular embellishments. If you do choose to book with us the cost of the sample kit will be credited to your account.
