GETTING STARTED
Short answer? As soon as you set the date and book your venue! But if you are looking for a more specific timeline the semi-custom invitation process typically takes around 3-4 weeks including customization, printing and production. You should be looking to book us at around 4-5 months before your wedding date.
Not to sound like a broken record but… as soon as you set a date and book your venue! We only take on a certain number of custom commissions a year to make sure that they are given the time and attention to detail they deserve. Securing your place on our schedule can happen anywhere from 12-18 months prior to the date. Don’t worry about not having it all figured out at that point! We typically start the design process 6-8 months prior to your wedding.
We love getting to know our couples and encourage everyone to book a free consultation! This gives us time to get a feel for your event needs and budget and offer the right options for you. This includes deciding between custom, semi-custom, and template (DIY) options. You can fill out our questionnaire and we will contact you to set up a meeting!
ORDERING
When figuring out how many sets you need, you count the number of households that you are sending invitations to, not the number of people being invited. We recommend that you order 10 extra sets to keep on hand.
Absolutely! Fun fact: Kristina started out as a calligrapher so she has a soft spot for all your envelope addressing projects. We offer traditional dip pen calligraphy, watercolor and brush hand lettering options. If you are looking for a more modern look we also offer digitally printed addressing.
If the idea of tying 100 ribbons sends you running for the hills we’ve got you. Assembly can be added to any semi custom project and is included with our custom client service.
Digital printing, the most widely used and economical option provides tons of customization options in the way of color.
Letterpress and foil stamping are more luxurious, tactile options that require the creation of a special plate and have fewer ink and color options.
White ink printing works well when color paper stock is what you have in mind. Whatever you choose you can be sure we will walk you through the process and your options.
Stamps come in all sizes and designs. We will weigh your final suite and provide you with the recommended amount of postage needed.
If you are looking for vintage postage we would be more than happy to curate a set that will add a little something extra to your envelopes!
We proof using a digital format that allows you to offer feedback and approve any changes. You’ll receive a digital suite layout by email that shows how your full suite looks together so you can get a real feel for how the beautiful envelope color goes with the suite or how the wax seal fits so perfectly.
